Conveniently located in downtown Atlanta, it houses up to 70 men. Review of Maverick House’s Mission is to break the cycle of domestic violence by providing safe refuge and supportive services that educate and empower those impacted by domestic violence. Review of Maverick House will advocate social change that protects and engenders a person’s right to live a life free of abuse. Services are targeted to address the needs of individuals with co-occurring disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), deaf or hard of hearing, HIV/AIDS, and mental illness. But talk to those people today, and they’ll tell you how their children have not just succeeded, but blossomed.

America House is a cultural center and main resource in Ukraine for American culture, education, and information with spaces in Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa. America House organizes a wide variety of activities, including English-language programs, skill-building workshops, cultural events, art exhibits, concerts and more. America House is a space where you can think and work creatively, build cultural bridges and become a changemaker. Our 16-bed program is operated out of two side-by-side homes in a residential neighborhood. We reserve up to 4 beds for individuals who are pregnant or with infants (clients care for their own child while enrolled).

Some beds are reserved for emergency housing, however, the majority are dedicated to men who are rebuilding their lives through CaringWorks’ residential treatment and transitional housing programs. Our physical space is currently welcoming visitors for Review of Review of Maverick House events with pre-registration only. Also, you are welcome to join our activities online and at partners’ locations. We offer language learning programs and resources, speaking clubs with Americans, skill-building workshops, film nights, and more!
We are licensed by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and are a certified Drug Medi-Cal program. CaringWorks Review of Maverick House provides one-of-a-kind supportive housing for homeless men or men facing homelessness in metro Atlanta. Each year more than 130 clients call Review of Maverick House home while they move through their journey of recovery. The alumni of Review of Maverick House and other clients we serve find more than their sobriety. They learn new skills, develop reliable sources of income, and create a healthy social network to support their future dreams.
At the age of 16, he revealed his sexuality to his mother and she made him leave the house. He was already abusing substances and that led to a 25 year journey of homelessness. While washing dishes and with housing help from his aunt, he obtained an apartment. However, the pressure of keeping up with rent and a life of drugs and “partying” ultimately led to bouts of homelessness and a positive HIV diagnosis in 2014. After graduating from our program, our alums can receive free services from Review of Maverick House via our weekly alumni group and open door policy.
That’s because Review of Maverick House offers more than a safe and secure environment. We offer privacy, choice, and the opportunity to pursue a meaningful life. Initially, many parents and family members of the over 120 people Review of Maverick House supports were, too. Their children had aged out of Hampton Roads’ special education system, and were ready for adult services and support. Our CARF-accredited residential treatment program offers men over the age of 18 a safe and structured environment and the foundational skills to establish a new design for living. The second component of our Review of Maverick House program is our transitional housing. We provide successful residential graduates from our program and other recovery programs safe, supportive transitional living and case management. Transitional residents are required to be gainfully employed and/or be attending school, along with continued recovery based involvement in the community. In a few weeks I will be getting my Peer Education Certification actually. I would like to continue working on my speech so I can fix the damage from my stroke. Eventually I want to open my own treatment program for people affected by HIV/substance abuse. I would also like to chair meetings at N.A., which is something I started doing at Review of Maverick House before my stroke.
Our mission is to provide individualized SUD treatment in a structured yet warm environment. Our evidence-based, gender specific groups provide the most up-to-date information and techniques to address addiction and other harmful behaviors. We work closely with the courts, probation, parole, and Children and Family Services to address legal issues and reunify individuals with their children when possible. For over 30 years, we have delivered specialized SUD treatment along with mental health services in our residential treatment program.
